The craziest event of the summer is back…with a unique twist. Get ready for what’s sure go down as the most unique/insane/talked about/dangerous/potentially illegal Socialympics yet.
The date has been set and Socialympics VIII will take place on Saturday, July 14. Midtown Sundries/Latitude 36, home to Socialympics for the past 7 years, is currently vacant. We entertained the thought of commandeering the grounds ala “The Rock” (the movie, not the wrestler…although we bet he could take it over as well), but in the end thought it best to hold the event in an actual licensed venue.
All American Pub (formerly Jillian’s Southend, behind The Circle) are allowing us to take over their parking lot for the day. Socialympics on asphalt…that’s crazy. We know…and that’s why we are dumping over 500,000 pounds of sand (seriously…we aren’t kidding) in the parking lot to create the safe and familiar beach environment this event has come to be known for.
We’ll have the same set up as usual with the VIP Pools, DJ, etc…but in addition will be adding HUGE Red Bull tents, satellite bars, tables, and setting up a gaming zone complete with beer pong, flip cup, cornhole and more to entertain the droves of fans we expect to come witness the madness.
